J. Rieger & Co.
The spirits live on.
Usually it’s a bad sign when someone wakes up each morning thinking of whiskey. For Andy Rieger (the original founder’s great-great-great grandson) and business partner Ryan Maybee, it’s been a labor of love from barrel to bottle, all the way to the resumed operations at the J. Rieger Distillery in KC’s East Bottoms.

Oddly CorrectObviously delicious.
How many baristas do you know who also hand-carve their own letterpress labels? None? Well, we know one. And it'd be our pleasure to introduce you. Word is getting out about how seriously we take our coffee in KC. Not in small part thanks to Oddly Correct’s owner-operator, Gregory Kolsto, who is meticulous when it comes to roasting. But what’s work without play? Kolsto’s whimsy shines in the one-of-a-kind designs pressed to each bag he sells.

Your vision. Our community
Thinkers. Dreamers. Doers. Entrepreneurs. They’re not just the building blocks of our local economy. They’re the mobank community, a collection of visionary leaders, inspired artists, powerful minds, impassioned citizens and wunderkind makers.
Culture
Mobank's tradition of Rock. Paper. Scissors. (RPS) competitions goes back to 2002 when we held our first company-wide tournament. It was too much fun to keep to ourselves, so in 2009 we organized a community-wide competition.
RPS takes place the first Friday of October at Mobank Crossroads as a way to bring the local business community together for some good, clean fun as teams throw down to see who will become the next RPS champion. Any company in the Kansas City area is invited to play – just sign up to throw down with the best of the best at our annual tournament. The winner receives a gift basket filled with goodies donated by local businesses, a sweet championship belt, their name and company permanently engraved on the RPS trophy, and bragging rights for eternity.
Event Details
Since 2008, the billboards above Mobank Crossroads location have been reserved exclusively to display the work of local artists. Through a partnership with the Charlotte Street Foundation, we've been able to feature multiple artists every year.
View the collection
At Mobank, we’re fortunate enough to call many local artists our customers. And we’re happy to share their work with a community that appreciates their creative spirit as much as we do. So every month, we invite a different local artist to set up their “studio” in the Crossroads bank lobby to do what they do best – create.
We think it’s great that anyone who comes in gets to witness (and sometimes take part in) the creation of an original piece of art. We love that. And it’s not even about selling the work, it’s about bringing a little inspiration and maybe some awe into our customers’ days while sharing the talents of others.
Our “Artist in Residence” doesn’t have to be a Mobank customer – it’s not about that. It’s about embracing and enjoying the artistic community we’re a part of.
To learn more, call Julie Nelson Meers at 816.881.8275.
Our Story
Mobank, is passionate about supporting Kansas City-based businesses and people. And, we encourage others to do the same. When you bank here, you’re part of a powerful network of thinkers, dreamers and doers.
