Community Involvement

Missouri Bank has long been a strong supporter of the neighborhoods in which we live and work. We believe contributing to the strength of our community is an essential part of our definition of success.

We received an "outstanding" CRA performance rating from the FDIC in our last three exams. This performance rating measures our practice of providing for the credit needs of our community. The West Side and the Crossroads Art District are two examples of areas in which Missouri Bank has had a sizable impact.

West Side Community

Missouri Bank has been at the center of a restoration revival taking place on the north end of Kansas City’s West Side. We were introduced to the area nearly eight years ago and have been involved in financing numerous projects there. Included in our portfolio are several turn-of-the-century houses which sit atop the bluffs with a view of downtown and the Missouri and Kaw Rivers. We have also worked closely with West Side Housing to provide financing for improved low- and moderate-income housing in the area. Additionally, we count The Roasterie, the Bluebird Café, Shiraz and Boulevard Brewing along with nearly 20 other neighborhood businesses as customers. Together we are working to strengthen the future of the West Side.

Crossroads Art District

Stephanie and Jim Leedy

Supporting a thriving arts community is important to us and to Missouri Bank.

Jim Leedy was one of the earliest promoters of the arts district, the heart of which is also known as "Leedyville". His daughter has followed in his footsteps with a real estate project which provides affordable living and working space to artists.

Missouri Bank has been a strong supporter of the revival taking place in the Crossroads Art District north of Union Station. Ernie Block Studios, The Works, Downtown Neon & Gallery, The Marietta Chair Building, The Manley Popcorn Building, The Zone, Leedy Voulkos Art Center, Hammerpress/Grafik Archive and Kathy Barnard Studios are all projects in which Missouri Bank has participated in order to help support the thriving arts scene which is bringing new life to the neighborhood.
