Tuesday March 4, 2014
The 2014 ArtsKC Awards luncheon, held Friday, Jan. 24 at Starlight Theatre in Kansas City, Mo., proved to be an exciting afternoon for the mobank family.
The Virtuoso Award went to Jay Tomlinson of Helix Architecture + Design for his “volunteer leadership with arts organizations such as Charlotte Street Foundation, AIA Kansas City, and the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art.”
Christina Eldridge and Dawn Taylor of Red Dirt, LLC, a 'goods for good' shop specializing in artist-designed cellphone cases, apparel, and providing clean water for hundreds of people around the world, were presented with the Creative Industry Award that recognizes “a creative for‐profit business for their extraordinary partnership with a creative nonprofit organization or individual artist.”
Artist extraordinaire Kati Toivanen created the beautiful centerpieces and awards.
mobank President Grant Burcham was honored with the Corporate Leader Award, recognizing his “commitment to individual artists as well as to organizations such as Art in the Loop and The Kansas City Art Institute, demonstrating a belief in the transformative power of art to develop businesses and communities.”
As he accepted the award, Burcham said, “How awesome to be among this group of friends and customers. It's truly an honor to be a supporter of the arts in Kansas City." He added, with a smile, “We have a table of mobankers here today – we'll work the room later and pass out business cards.”Prev->> <<-Next
