Putting On The Dawg

Grant Burcham sampling the mobank dawgThere is perhaps no greater sign that you have "arrived" than when a fine restaurant names a signature dish in your honor.

Next month, mobank will join that particular ring of honor with the debut of the "mobank dawg," a gourmet delight featuring chili, jalapenos and a fried egg wrapped in a flour tortilla.

The mobank dawg is a culinary creation of the chefs at the New York Dawg Pound, 7702 Shawnee Mission Parkway, Overland Park. It will be officially rolled out at mobank's third annual Rock. Paper. Scissors. Throwdown Tournament set for Oct. 7 at the mobank Crossroads branch, 125 Southwest Blvd.

After that, the mobank dawg will be available daily at the Dawg Pound – but it won't be listed on the menu board. Like many of the special things in life, it's an "underground" dog only available to those in the know who ask for it by name.

CEO Grant Burcham sampled the mobank dawg in advance recently. His verdict: "This dawg will hunt!"

If you're planning to check out the dawg at the RPS Throwdown, plan to get there early. The event starts at 5:30 p.m., and you'll want to sample this epicurean delight before it's dawg-gone.
